UNIBEN’s best-graduating student, James Alleh, honored his mother’s sacrifices and resilience, especially after his father’s passing, in an emotional tribute during his graduation ceremony.


James Alleh, the University of Benin’s best-graduating student, shared an emotional story about his mother’s sacrifices for their family as she was honored during his graduation ceremony.
Alleh, who achieved an impressive 4.98/5.0 CGPA in Petroleum Engineering, reflected on his mother’s resilience and dedication, especially after the loss of his father.
A video circulating online captured the touching moment when his mother was invited to the stage during the ceremony, shortly after he was announced as the valedictorian.
Taking to his Twitter page to share the moment, Alleh expressed gratitude and admiration for his mother’s unwavering support. In his post, he prayed for blessings upon her and other mothers around the world who make similar sacrifices.
His heartfelt words read:
“After shaking hands with the VC, I heard my mom screaming. I embraced her, and the VC asked her to come on stage. She knelt before the dignitaries—humbled and overjoyed. Tears filled my eyes. She’s carried our family since dad’s passing.
God bless mom. God bless every mom like her.”
