The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Offiong Efanga. Offiong, has approved the appointment of Dr. Bassey Ekpenyong Anam as Deputy Director of the Institute of Public Policy and Administration (IPPA).
The appointment, conveyed in letter dated February 6, 2026, takes effect from February 9, 2026, and will run for an initial period of two years in the first instance.
According to the letter, Dr. Anam is expected to work directly under the Director of IPPA in overseeing the affairs of the institute.
Dr Anam, according to the letter, is also to ensure the achievement of optimal results in line with the university’s academic and administrative objectives.
The Vice Chancellor charged him to align with the mission and vision of the current university administration and to ensure that the values and expectations of the University of Calabar are upheld at all times.
The University helsman said departments and directors would be held accountable for timely delivery of results within their areas of responsibility.
Dr. Anam’s elevation to the position is seen as a recognition of his experience and contributions to public policy and administration within the university community.
By this letter, relevant sections of the University have been directed to accord him all courtesies and support associated with his new office.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated him on his appointment and wished him a successful tenure in office.
