Kazeem Sanusi, a final-year UNILORIN student, set a new world record by delivering a 31-hour, 42-minute mathematics lesson, surpassing the previous 26-hour record and earning praise from the university community.


Kazeem Sanusi, a final-year mathematics student at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has set a new world record for the Longest Mathematics Lesson, delivering a continuous lecture lasting 31 hours, 42 minutes, and 54 seconds.
His remarkable achievement surpassed the previous record of 26 hours of uninterrupted teaching, marking a new milestone in educational endurance and dedication.
The marathon session, witnessed by representatives of the Guinness World Records, drew a captivated audience and was officially acknowledged by the university’s spokesperson, Kunle Akogun. The event had the full backing of the university leadership, including the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, who led a team of top officials and students in cheering Kazeem on.
Other dignitaries present included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Adegboyega Fawole; the Registrar, Mr. Mansur Alfanla; Dean of Physical Sciences, Prof. Abdullahi Alafara Baba; Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Alex Akanmu; and the Student Union President, Comrade Victor Agezeh.
Akogun noted that Kazeem is now awaiting official certification from Guinness World Records.
Prof. Egbewole praised the historic feat, stating, “The university is immensely proud of Kazeem’s achievement. We will continue to encourage our students to find their passion and pursue it with determination.”
He expressed optimism that Kazeem’s success would serve as inspiration for others within the university community to break boundaries and raise the institution’s global reputation even further.
