UNIPORT Convocation 2026: University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) 36th Convocation Ceremony Programme of Events has been scheduled.


The management of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) wishes to inform the general public, members of the university community, stakeholders, alumni, parents, guardians, and friends of the institution of its forthcoming 36th Convocation Ceremony.
Following a period of strategic planning and administrative adjustments, the university authorities have confirmed that the prestigious event is now slated to take place from June 1 to June 6, 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Owunari A. Georgewill, cordially invites the general public, graduands, and well-wishers to the institution’s 36th Combined Convocation Ceremony.
The week-long event, scheduled from Monday, 1st June to Saturday, 6th June 2026, will feature the award of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, and the presentation of prizes.

- Friday, 29th May 2026
Jumat Service: University Mosque – 1:00 pm. - Sunday, 31st May 2026
Convocation Service: The Chapel of Annunciation, Catholic Chaplaincy, University Park – 9:00 am.
Convocation Week Schedule
- Monday, 1st June 2026
Media Briefing: Led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill at the Council Chambers, Senate Building, University Park – 10:00 am. - Tuesday, 2nd June 2026
- Tree Planting Ceremony: Performed by the Best Graduating Student at the New Convocation Arena, University Park – 10:00 am.
- Red Carpet: 5:00 pm.
- Command Performance: Hosted at The Crab, Delta Park – 6:00 pm.
- Wednesday, 3rd June 2026
- Class Day Activities: College and Faculty – 12:00 pm.
- Vice-Chancellor’s Dinner: Honoring First Class Graduands and Graduands with Distinction from the College of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge, Delta Park – 6:00 pm.
- Thursday, 4th June 2026
- Research Fair/Exhibitions: CBN and University Library – 10:00 am.
- Fire Side Chat: Featuring Mr. Iyinoluwa Aboyeji OON (CEO of Future Africa).
- Lecture: “Finding Purpose: Optimizing Life after School” at the CBN Auditorium – 3:00 pm.

Convocation Lecture & Conferment of Higher Degrees: New Convocation Arena, University Park – 10:00 am.
Lecture Topic: “Leadership and Infrastructure Development in Nigeria: Lessons for Future Leaders.”
Guest Lecturer: His Excellency, Chief Dr. (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, POS Africa.
This one-week window will encompass a variety of academic and celebratory activities designed to honor the hard work and dedication of the graduating class.
The university’s management extends a warm invitation to all to join in this celebration of legacy, growth, and excellence. Family members of the graduating students are especially encouraged to attend and witness this important milestone in the academic journey of their loved ones.
