This is to inform the general public that sale of Application Forms for admission into the Part-Time Degree Programmes of the College of Continuing Education (CCE), University of Port Harcourt for the 2021/2022 session has commenced. Applicants who possess A/Level GCE or Diploma from recognized institutions may be admitted through the Direct Entry mode
ELIGIBILITY: The Programme is open to applicants with a minimum of five (5) Credits in not more than two sittings in English Language and other relevant subjects [in GCE, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB & TC II (TC II is applicable for applicants for Faculty of Education)].
COURSE DURATION: The Programme is for a period of one year (one academic session).

B.A. Degree Programmes in History & Diplomatic Studies, English Studies, Philosophy, Religious & Cultural Studies, and Linguistics & Communication Studies.
2. FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
B.Sc. Degree Programmes in Economics, Public Administration, and Sociology (Community Development & Social Welfare) .
3.FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
B.Sc. Degree Programmes in Accounting, Finance and Banking, Management, Marketing and Hospitality Management & Tourism.
4. FACULTY OF SCIENCE
B.Sc. Degree Programme in Computer Science.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Holders of WAEC/SSCE, GCE O’ Level or their equivalent with credit passes in five (5) relevant subjects, (including English and Mathematics) are eligible to apply.
The following subjects: Book Keeping, Business Studies, Typewriting, Secretarial Studies, Shorthand, Social Studies and Health Science, Food and Nutrition, and Home Economics are not acceptable.
ADMISSION REQUIRMENTS FOR DIRECT ENTRY INTO THE PART TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Direct Entry Requirements:
Candidate must have at least two A/Level passes in HSC, GCE or JUPEB; NCE/Diploma with (Upper Credit) in relevant subjects from any recognized institution in addition to five credit passes in WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE “O” Level or their equivalent at not more than two sittings to apply for the Direct Entry Programme in any of the courses listed below.
1 Faculty of Humanities:
(i) Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Diplomatic Studies
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which must include; English Language, History or Government and any other three subjects from: Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry Physics, Agric. Science, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography and Commerce.
(ii) Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Studies
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which must include: English Language, Literature in English and any other three subjects from: History or Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agric. Science, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography and Commerce.
(iii) Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which must include: English Language and any other four subjects from Literature in English, History or Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agric. Science, Physics, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography and Commerce.
(iv) Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy:
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language and any other four subjects from Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Economics. Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agric. Science, a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, History or Government, Commerce and Geography: at least, a Pass in either Mathematics, a Science subject or Literature in English is required.
(v) Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious and Cultural Studies:
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which, must include: English Language and any other four subjects from Literature in English, History or Government, CRK/IRK, Economics. a Nigerian Language: Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, Fine Art, Commerce, Geography, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Agric. Science.
2. Faculty of Social Sciences:
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes, including English Language, two of which, must be Social Science subjects (Economics, Geography, Government or History) and credit in any other two Arts subjects.
(i) Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration:
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language, Government or History, Economics and any other two subjects from: Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Agric. Science and Mathematics or, at least, a pass in Mathematics; if Mathematics is not inclusive of the five credit passes.
(ii) Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics:
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History/ Geography and any other subject from: Commerce, CRK/IRK, Literature in English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Agric. Science.
(iii) Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology (Community Development and Social Welfere):
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which must include: English Language and any other four subjects from: Economics, Commerce, Government/History, Geography, CRK/IRK, Mathematics or, at least, a pass in Mathematics; if Mathematics is not inclusive of the five credit passes.
3. Faculty of Management Sciences
Candidate must have five (5) credit passes, which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two subjects from: Government or History, Geography, Commerce, Accounting, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Science subjects. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Agric. Science.
(i) Bachelor of Science Degree in Management,
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Accounting. Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Science subject: Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
(ii) Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes, which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two, from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Accounting, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Science subject: Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
(iii) Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two, from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Accounting, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Science subject: Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
(iv) Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Banking:
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes, which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Science subject: Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
New Programme:
(v) Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes, which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Accounting/Finance/
Business, Literature in English, C.R.K/I.R.K., Science Subject- Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agric Science.
4. Faculty of Science
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science
Candidates must have five (5) credit passes which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
NOTE: ONLY ‘O’ LEVEL IN WAEC (SSCE/GCE), NABTEB AND NECO Certificates are acceptable for registration. TC II is not acceptable.

- The set of names stated by candidates in their Application Forms must be consistent with the names on their credentials. Inconsistency in names may lead to disqualification.
- Candidates with O/Level Examination Results from 2014 backwards must present their Original Certificates and not Statement of Results or Result Slips.
B. DIPLOMA PROGRAMME
Diploma in Law
Duration of Programme: The Diploma in Law Programme is a Continuing Education Programme and will run for two academic sessions; each session divided into two semesters.
Students having no more than five courses to repeat or clear at the end of the second year will be allowed a maximum of one additional academic session to do so, bringing the maximum duration of the programme to three academic sessions (six semesters).
Entry Requirements: Candidates must have Ordinary Level Credit passes in at least four subjects, including English Language in the WASSC/SSCE/NECO/GCE, obtained at not more than two sittings.
How to Apply for UNIPORT Part-Time Degree Admission
- Application for the various Programmes is online. Log on to Click this link and click on the application procedure in CCE then follow the instructions.
- Under the CCE menu click on, Part Time form and complete the application form and click on submit.
- Proceed to U & C Micro Finance Bank cash office, CCE Branch Ikwerre Road Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt on payment of a non-refundable fee of N10,000.00 only excluding Bank charges.
- After payment return to the application online to insert your teller number to print out your payment slip.
- Candidates should report to the Examinations and Records Unit, CCE, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt with photocopies of their credentials and payment slip with the teller for further documentation.
- The name(s) on the candidate’s O’Level certificate(s) must be the same as what is filled on-line
- Change of name is not allowed once a candidate is admitted.
- Candidates must ensure that they have the requisite qualifications for the intended courses.
- Candidates are required to Log- on to Jamb website for Jamb registration and completion of On-Line application form with the sum of N3,500.00 (three thousand five hundred naira only)

Note: Only candidates with three (3) Ordinary Level credits passes in the WASC/SSCE/GCE/NABTEB/NECO at not more than two (2) sittings are acceptable for registration.

A non-refundable application fee of fifteen thousand naira (N15,000.00) in certified bank draft in favour of IARD (UNIPORT) and made payable to College of Continuing Education (CCE), UNIPORT. Completed application forms should be submitted to the Director, Institute of Agricultural Research and Development (IARD), Choba campus, UNIPORT.
Shortlisted and admitted candidates will be invited to complete the necessary registration processes and commence training.
