Cursory: A Brilliant young woman from Nigeria, graduated with distinction from the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, earning a first-class honors with a nearly perfect GPA. She successfully balanced her academic pursuits with managing her shoemaking business.


Balancing a full-time business as a Shoemaker alongside her academic pursuits, Lala Adepeju, a young woman, has graduated from the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Nigeria, achieving a remarkable first-class degree in Animal Science with a grade point average of 4.55 out of 5.00.
Lala proudly shared her accomplishment on LinkedIn, attributing her success to the synergy between her journey in Shoemaking and her newfound identity as an Animal scientist.
She expressed excitement in announcing her academic feat and narrated how she excelled in all her academic modules while refining her artistic skills in shoemaking.
”My academic roadmap to graduating with a first-class degree (4.55/5.00) is a blend of transitions between Shoe Crafting and becoming a proud Animal scientist,” she said.
Lala recalled that in her formative years, she aspired to pursue a career in Human medicine. However, encountering challenges in gaining admission to a university, she stumbled upon her passion for shoemaking while undergoing an A-level program.
Despite her persistent efforts to pursue studies in Human Medicine, fate led her to enroll in Animal Science at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti. Throughout her academic tenure, Lala adeptly managed her studies while concurrently enhancing her proficiency in shoemaking to sustain herself financially.
Lala highlighted her commitment to balancing academic responsibilities with her burgeoning shoe business, navigating through lectures, training sessions, and research projects.
She acknowledged the mounting pressure, especially in her final year, as she adeptly managed both fulfilling shoe orders and meeting academic obligations, including conducting her project research.
Despite these challenges, she remained actively engaged in extracurricular activities, assuming leadership roles within her department and Christian fellowship, mentoring peers, and contributing to her community.
Lala expressed her heartfelt appreciation to her project supervisor, Anthony H. Ekeocha, as well as her mentors and friends who provided unwavering support throughout her journey. Additionally, she mentioned the evolution of her business, now branded as “DETAILS BY LALA.”
Lala said as she embarks on the next chapter of her journey, she is eager to explore job and postgraduate opportunities aligned with her passion for livestock agriculture, as she is determined to achieve all her career goals.
