18-year-old Michael Amankwah-Baidu achieved distinction grades in his A-levels, earning acceptance to the University of Cambridge, and expressed gratitude for the support of his family, school, and community throughout his journey.


Michael Amankwah-Baidu, an 18-year-old student, achieved outstanding distinction grades in his A-level exams, leading to his acceptance into the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, for his bachelor’s degree.
After graduating high school with excellent grades, Michael attended Brampton Manor Academy, where he excelled in his A-level exams, scoring AAA*A in Maths, English Literature, Psychology, and Economics. Reflecting on his journey, Michael shared that it took two years of growth, hard work, and overcoming challenges to achieve these results.
In a celebratory post on LinkedIn, Michael expressed gratitude to God for guiding him through obstacles and challenges. He also thanked his father, who made the bold decision to immigrate to the UK, working tirelessly to support him financially and emotionally. Michael acknowledged his father’s sacrifices, including the significant expenses on travel, food, and daily necessities, which were crucial to his success.
He also expressed deep appreciation for his mother, who consistently woke up early every day to help him prepare for school, ensuring he had a packed breakfast and being his constant source of support during stressful times.
Michael extended his gratitude to the Brampton Manor University Access Team, Target Oxbridge, and Hogan Lovells for their invaluable assistance with his personal statement and interview preparations. He also thanked the Brampton Manor community for being his supportive and loving family over the past two years, and he gave special recognition to his friend Christian, who encouraged him to apply to Brampton Manor.
Michael’s remarkable achievement is a testament to his dedication, resilience, and the support of those around him.
