University of Jos, (UNIJOS) Public Notice On Christmas/ New Year Break

The Management of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has officially announced the schedule for the 2025 Christmas and New Year break for the university community.

​In an internal memorandum released on December 20, 2025, by the Deputy Registrar (Information and Publications), the university clarified the holiday duration and corrected a previous clerical error regarding the resumption date.

  • ​Commencement: Monday, December 22, 2025.
  • End Date: Sunday, January 4, 2026.

​The university management explicitly stated that academic and administrative work will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

​This announcement serves as a correction to a previous memo dated December 19, which had erroneously stated the resumption year as 2025. The administration noted that “the error is regretted” and urged all staff to take note of the correct 2026 date.

​While the majority of the university staff will be on break, those on essential duties are required to report for work as usual throughout the holiday period to ensure the continued maintenance and security of the institution.

​On behalf of the institution, the Vice-Chancellor extended warm holiday wishes to all members of the university community, wishing the staff a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year ahead.
