Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, AAU Approved New Dress Code For Students In The College Of Medicine.


I am directed to inform you that the College Academic Board at its emergency meeting held on 2nd February, 2023 approved Dress Codes for students in the Faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences and Clinical Sciences of the College of Medicine as follows
A. FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES
- Clothing for Male Students
- White long/short sleeve with the on ash coloured trousers Ash coloured scrub (top and trousers)
- Clothing for Female Students
- White short sleeve on ash coloured 3/4 (three-quarter) skirt, or Ash coloured scrub (top length to mid thigh and trousers)
- Tags carrying name and Department of students identification should be worn for easy
- In addition, the following are prohibited:
- colouring of hair for both males and females
- dreading of hair for males
- plaiting of hair for males
- exposing of tattoos for both males and females
- wearing of slippers for both males and females
- wearing of earrings for males
- wearing of jeans for both males and females
B). FACULTIES OF BASIC CLINICAL AND CLINICAL SCIENCES
Clothing for Male Students
They are expected to diss corporately on longshort sleeve shirt with fie
They are not allowed to
- wear T-shirts
- wear jumpy trousers
- wear native attires
- wear sagging trousers
Clothing for Female Students
- All dresses and skirts must be at least 4 inches below the knee
- Female trousers must be loos Sleeveless altres are not allowed
3. General: Ward coat should be worn in the mornings at clinics and during practical sessions and tags carrying the name and Department of students should be worn for easy identification
4, in addition, the following are prohibited:
- colouring of hair for both males and females
- exposing of tattoos for both males and females
- wearing slopers for both males and females
- wearing of jeans for both males and females
- dreading of hair for males
- plaiting of hair for males
- wearing of earings for males
Defaulters shall be sanctioned in line with the University circular on “Ban on Indecent Dressing on Campus (Indecent Dressing Posture: Sanctions)” issued on February 2023 which contents also apply to students in the College of Medicine,
The purpose of this memo is to inform you of the foregoing decisions for implementation. Efforts should be made to bring the content of this memo to the attention of students for immediate compliance.
