This is to inform all students most especially those living in the University Hostel that the University will no longer tolerate continuous violations of the regulations governing the hostel accomodation. The following are university hostel offenses and their corresponding sanctions for the student’s guidance.

I write to inform you that the University Senate has approved the revised Students Handbook at its 161th Regular Senate Meeting held on Thursday, 13th April. 2023. The following are extracts of 30 most salient misconducts from the revised Handbook. All students and members of the University Community are requested to avoid such types of misconduct.

1. Multi coloured braid for female

2. Coloured Hair styles

3. Hair Braiding for Male

4. Dreadlocks

5. Spangled Hair style for Male

6. Earing for Male/Cowries for Female

7. Unconventional Wearing of Face Cap/Fez Cap

8. Tattered Jeans

9. Micro/Mini Dress

10. Crop Tops/Jump Tops

11. Off Shoulder Clothes

12. Backless Clothes

13. Transparent Wears

14. Bum Shorts

15. Nose, Mouth Eye Extra rings

16. Sagging

17. Tattoo

18. Engaging in Reckless Driving

19. Driving of car with tinted glass

20. Driving/operating car with loud music

21. Driving of car without plate number

22. Unwelcome touching kissing, hugging, massaging or sitting on each others lap by opposite sex.

23. Pressure for or forced sexual activity (Rape)

24. Male entry into the room of female

25. Male entry into the female hostel

26. Female entry into the room of male student after 10:00pm

27. Taking bath outside the bathroom/toilet

28. Use of unauthorized electrical appliances that may cause damage to electrical facility

29. Illegal occupation of rooms or University buildings

30. Causing damages through cooking in halls.
