Cursory: Lagos State University (LASU) has admitted 10,301 students out of over 40,200 applicants for the 2022/2023 academic session. The Vice Chancellor, emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the opportunity and advised the students to focus on their studies. The university also has a policy of refunding 50 percent of tuition fees to students who maintain a CGPA of 4.50 every session.


As reported by The Nation, during the matriculation ceremony held at the main campus in Ojo, Lagos, on Tuesday, June 13, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, announced that out of the more than 40,200 applicants to the institution, 10,301 students have been granted admission.
Olatunji-Bello: “You must count yourselves very lucky to be among the very few that applied. It is on this note that I will advise you to face your studies so as not to lose the huge opportunity of getting a university education.”
According to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, LASU aims to graduate individuals who will actively contribute to the transformation of Lagos State into a Greater Lagos.
She emphasized that the university is dedicated to its policy of refunding 50 percent of tuition fees to students who consistently achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.50 or above each academic session.
Olatunji-Bello encouraged the students to prioritize academic excellence and avoid engaging in negative social behaviors.
She said: “Avoid examination malpractices, do away with corruption and hooliganism and other vices that can expose you to danger as those found culpable will be dealt with in line with our disciplinary mechanisms.”
