Faith Odunsi, hailed as a mathematics genius, emerged as the Global Champion in Mathematics, surpassing competitors from various nations worldwide.
Representing Nigeria in the Global Open Mathematics Tournament, Faith outshone participants from countries like the United States, United Kingdom, and China at every stage of the competition.
Her outstanding feat included solving an impressive 19 mathematical questions in just 60 seconds, garnering admiration from the global audience.
In an interview with Punch, Faith expressed her joy and honor at winning the competition.
Currently, in her final year at Ota State Ambassador School in South-West Nigeria, Faith had already established herself as the top mathematics student in Nigeria before showcasing her prowess on the international platform.
Reflecting on the challenges she faced during the competition, Faith mentioned that the initial stages were tough as she adjusted to the System. She recounted, “I think the first was the toughest, there was a computer-based test and we had to answer many questions in one hour. My score in the test was 66.
“The second stage took the same format and I also scored 66. The quarter and semi-finals were on Microsoft themes. We were asked questions and we put in our answers; the first to put in the correct answers got 10 points.”
Faith’s remarkable achievement highlights her dedication and exceptional talent in mathematics, earning her recognition and admiration both locally and globally.
