A final-year University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) student, Mintah Frederick, also known as Newton, has gained widespread admiration on social media for creating an assistive robot designed to help children with disabilities during mealtime.
The innovative robot, showcased in a viral video, uses advanced sensors and AI to safely identify and pick up food, feeding users directly from a bowl. Social media users praised the project, with many applauding Frederick’s efforts to improve life quality for children with special needs and encouraging further development and testing in real-life settings.
