FUNAAB Ranks 2nd Best Performing Federal University in Nigeria for Graduate Employability

FUNAAB Ranks 2nd Best Performing Federal University in Nigeria for Graduate Employability.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence and industry relevance by emerging as the 2nd Best Performing Federal University in Nigeria based on Employability, according to the 2025 Nigeria University Rankings.

This remarkable achievement was based on the Industry Metric, which evaluated critical employability indicators such as employer reputation, industry-sponsored research income, and internship placements. The ranking reflected FUNAAB’s continued efforts in equipping its students with the practical skills and industry exposure necessary to thrive in today’s competitive job market.

With over a million graduates entering Nigeria’s labour market annually, graduate employability has become a key benchmark for measuring university impact. In response, FUNAAB has strengthened its partnerships with top-tier companies, integrated employer feedback into its curriculum, expanded internship opportunities, and boosted industry-driven research.

These strides were anchored by the establishment of the Career Services and Linkages Unit (CSLU), following the strategic implementation of the University’s Benchmarking and Employability Committee, which has significantly enhanced FUNAAB’s employability profile.

This latest feat has added to FUNAAB’s growing list of accolades, including being named the Best University of Agriculture in Africa and 7th Globally in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024. Additionally, the University recently secured the Number One position in Nigeria for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), among many others.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has congratulated staff, students, and the entire University Community on this outstanding milestone. He urged all stakeholders to remain committed to excellence, as the University strives not only to sustain but to surpass its current achievements.
