The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has released an official statement addressing a viral video circulating on social media showing a security officer physically assaulting a student.

According to the university management, preliminary findings confirm that the incident occurred on Wednesday, 12th November 2025 at the 1,500 Lecture Theater of the Pre-Degree Science Complex.

The Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka O. Balogun, stated that an official investigation has already commenced and assured the LAUTECH community and the public that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness. She emphasized that appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken in line with university policies and regulations.

The management reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for students, staff, and visitors, stressing that violence or abuse in any form is not tolerated within the institution.

Students were encouraged to continue attending their classes without fear, as measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
