Police Arrest Man for Sending Fake Bomb Threats to Ikeja Schools, as Lagos Police Boost School Security and Bust One-Chance Syndicate.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Kosiso Chukwem-Nenyem, a resident of Okota, over alleged bomb threat messages sent to two schools in the Ikeja Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Lagos. The arrest was made after the schools’ Human Resources Manager and Chief Security Officer received threatening WhatsApp messages claiming explosive devices had been planted within the premises.

According to Police Commissioner Moshood Jimoh, security operatives were immediately mobilized, including the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit and Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU). A thorough sweep of the premises found no explosive devices, and the schools were declared safe.

Investigations revealed Chukwem-Nenyem was the sender, despite claiming he lost his phone in November 2025. The SIM card used was recovered, and police found he continued receiving calls from family members during the threat period.

The police commissioner stated Chukwem-Nenyem acted alone, intentionally seeking to create fear among school authorities and parents. He’ll be charged to court accordingly.

The command also announced dismantling a notorious one-chance robbery syndicate, arresting 21 suspects across Lagos. Twenty-five vehicles were recovered, including six operational vehicles used by the syndicate.

The police are strengthening the School Protection Squad to cover Lagos East, West, and Central districts. Residents are encouraged to go about their lawful activities without fear.
