FUNAAB Appoints Prof. Michael Takeet as Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine

The management of Federal University of Agriculture, FUNAAB has appointed Prof. Michael Takeet as Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has approved the appointment of Prof. Michael Takeet, a distinguished Academic in the Department of Veterinary Parasitology and Entomology, as the Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET).

Announcing the appointment, the Ag. Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide, disclosed that the Appointment Letter signed by the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, followed the recommendation of the College Board of the College of Veterinary Medicine and would take effect from August 1, 2026, for a three-year tenure ending on July 31, 2029.

Mr. Olajide further stated that the Appointment Letter noted that the Vice-Chancellor’s approval was in recognition of Prof. Takeet’s proven capacity to provide sound academic leadership and make meaningful contributions to the continued growth and development of the University.

He added that Prof. Takeet is a member of several reputable professional bodies, including the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology, the American Society of Parasitologists, the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, and the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria.
