Afrobeats singer Fola, whose real name is Folarin Odunlami, attracted significant attention when he arrived at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for his final-year project defence.
The fast-rising musician reportedly arrived on campus in a Cadillac Escalade, drawing the attention of students who gathered around him to take photographs and watch him proceed to the venue.
Fola’s appearance at the university surprised some students and social media users, particularly because of his growing music career. Despite his increasing presence in the entertainment industry, the singer has continued with his academic programme at UNILAG.
The singer is reportedly studying Economics at the institution. His status as a student resurfaced online after an old conversation with one of his coursemates began circulating again. In the conversation, the coursemate had reminded Fola about an early morning test while he was reportedly in London.
His appearance, however, generated mixed reactions online. While some people praised him for combining his education with his music career, others focused on his choice of clothing and the manner in which he arrived at the university.
