The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the 2026 National Common Entrance Examinations (NCEE) scheduled.


The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) of Federal Unity Colleges across Nigeria will hold on Saturday, 6 June 2026.
According to NECO, the examination is open to final-year primary school pupils who will not be more than 10 years old by September 2026.

Registration Details
Registration for the 2026 NCEE is strictly online and can only be completed via the NECO official portal. The registration fee is ₦5,940 per candidate.
Parents, guardians, and head teachers are required to:
- Create an online account using an email address and phone number
- Activate the account
- Make payment through approved channels such as card, bank branch, USSD, internet banking, wallet, or eNaira
- Enter the candidate’s biodata, including National Identification Number (NIN)
- Upload a recent passport photograph
- Print the photocard after successful registration
Important Notes
NECO emphasized that:
- Payments must be made only through the NECO portal
- Changes to examination centre, candidate name, or passport photograph are not allowed after registration
- Successful candidates may be posted to any available Federal Unity College, depending on capacity
Examination Structure
The examination will consist of two papers:
- Paper I: Mathematics, Basic Science and Technology; English Studies and National Values Education
- Paper II: Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Aptitude
Candidates are required to choose six Federal Unity Colleges, one from each geopolitical zone.
Registration Timeline
Registration opens on Monday, 5 January 2026, and closes on Saturday, 6 June 2026, at 9:00 a.m. on the examination day.
