A Brilliant Nigerian man identified as Ayomide Adedeji, who dropped out of school in SS2 due to financial challenges and later wrote West African Examination Council (WAEC) Exam has finally bagged First-Class degree from University Of Ibadan (UI).
Ayomide Adedeji said he had to use private studies to write his WAEC after he stopped school, but he didn’t give up.
Ayomide took to LinkedIn to share his remarkable story which has inspired many people on the platform.

Sharing his story, Ayomide wrote:
“I’m pleased to announce that I graduated with a First Class from the department of Economics, University of Ibadan My journey thus far has been eventful and I am grateful for the direction I have chosen. I discovered my interest in business around age 9 when I started one and found myself enjoying it. I knew then that I was going to be in the commercial class in secondary school.
“I faced financial challenges in secondary school having to opt out of school in SS2 and focus on active self study and the occasional private lesson for WAEC preparation while also taking up a teaching job. Despite this, I ended up with one of the best results in my set.
“Through all these, I learnt determination and focus. Going into UI, all I had on my mind was to be the best I could be. I was not really fixated on the ‘First class’ as I have always believed that university education will always make you a better person despite your class of grade.
“While in UI, I engaged in several activities, a few businesses, societies and programmes. I was also very active in campus christian ministry.
“I’m happy I built great relationships. Thanks to my disciplers Stephen Oriyomi & Adeosun David who taught and showed me the importance of excellence. I’m grateful to my parents for their sacrifice and love pulled through for me.
“I’m grateful to my project supervisor Dr. Noah Olasehinde for bringing out the best in me . To my HOD Prof. Adeola Adenikinju for his good leadership in the department and to Dr. Sam OREKOYA for his encouragement and push he gave me in my final year.
“I’m also grateful to my friends for their unending support. Esther Ali Mojolaoluwa Ayeni Ayomide Abodunrin Favour Ubaka Teniola Olabode AAT Eniolaoluwa Ajiboso Jesupelumi Awopetu Adenike Raji Deborah Jokanola Juliet Ezeokolie My story is one of God’s grace, determination and strength. As I am a year older today, I am excited and look forward to the next phase of my life.“
