The Abia State University (ABSU) Matriculation Ceremony Date for Fresh Students admitted in 2025/2026 academic session has been announced.


The 44th Matriculation ceremony of Abia State University has been scheduled as follows:
Date: Friday, 27th February, 2026
Venue: University Pavilion
Time: 11.00am
Those to Matriculate:
- Postgraduate students, who are not graduates of Abia State University;
- All First Year Undergraduate students of the Regular and the Institute for Continuing Education (ICE), who have paid their school fees;
- Other duly admitted and cleared students who, for good reasons, could not matriculate in their year of admission.
The hiring cost of the Matriculation regalia (gown and cap) and Brochure is fifteen thousand Naira (N15,000.00) only.
Matriculating students should pay at the ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu only.
Payment should be made on or before Tuesday, 24th February, 2026 as issuance of Matriculation materials will commence on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026.
Please note, that the Matriculation ceremony is compulsory for all Fresh Students of the University and only bonafide students, who have accepted their offer-of-admission, paid their fees and registered their courses, as appropriate, shall be eligible for the ceremony.

STUDENTS EXPECTED TO MATRICULATE

PROCEDURE FOR HIRING OF MATRICULATION REGALIA AND PURCHASE OF MATRICULATION BROCHURE BY MATRICULANTS
- The hiring cost of the Matriculation regalia (gown and cap only) and Brochure is fifteen thousand Naira (N15,000.00) only.Matriculating students should pay at the following designated Banks ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu; EcoBank Plc; Fidelity Bank Plc; Union Bank Plc: Zenith Bank Plc; UBA Plc and payment via bank debit cards. On no account should payment be made in cash to anybody. Payment begins immediately;
REPLACEMENT CHARGE
- A replacement charge of twenty thousand Naira (20,000.00) will be paid for the loss of, or damage to, any academic regalia. All the relevant Offices should ensure that students receive adequate attention.
Please note, that only bonafide students of the University, who have accepted their offer of admission, paid their fees and registered their courses shall be eligible for the matriculation ceremony.
All should be seated by 10.30 am, before the arrival of the Vice Chancellor’s procession.
