Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Matriculation Date for 2025/2026 Session has been announced. See the new date, time and venue below.
This is to inform all fresh Undergraduate students for 2025/2026 academic session and the entire University community that the Matriculation ceremony to mark the students formal admission into the University will take place as follows:
As the 2025/2026 Academic Session Matriculation Ceremony will hold on Tuesday 17 February, 2026, newly admitted students are requested to collect academic gowns from their respective Faculties.
Accordingly, students are to pay the sum of three thousand Naira only (N3,000) for hiring the gowns.
All payments should be made through Remita by generating Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
PROCEDURE FOR GENERATING REMITA RETRIEVAL REFERENCE (RRR)
STEP ONE:
Login to www.remita.net
STEP TWO:
Click Pay TSA & States then select FGN: Federal Government of Nigeria
STEP THREE:
Fill the form as follows:

- Description: Hiring of Academic Gown

YOU THEN SELECT YOUR MODE OF PAYMENT: FOR EXAMPLE:
a. Debit Card
b. Bank Branch (Go to any bank with the copy of the RRR Print out OR the RRR Number and present for payment)
c. Pay using Internet Banking
Click Submit (it will take you to the payment window).
STEP FOUR:
Where payment is made using Debit Card through our POS, the Cashier will issue the University Official Receipt immediately, if paid using any other option, such as b and c above, a printout of the Remita Receipt is required for issuance of official receipt.
Students are warned to desist from making cash payment at the designated centres of the collection of the Academic gowns.

It is mandatory for all fresh Undergraduate students to be robed in academic gowns and attend the event during which the Matriculation Oath will be administered on them. The students are to report to their Faculty Officers to obtain the academic gowns and Matriculation Oath Forms after the payment of Two Thousand Naira only (N2,000.00) either through the previously announced mode or through Remita Platform as outlined below.

In compliance with the mandatory attendance requirement, Faculty Officers are to ensure that they take the students’ record of attendance and submit same along with their completed Matriculation Oath forms to the Academic Office immediately after the event for uploading on individual student portal.

The matriculating students are enjoined to ensure that they complete and sign the Matriculation Oath forms on the day of the ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor welcomes the fresh Undergraduate students and wishes them successful academic endeavour while in the University. The students are once again called upon to be peaceful and law abiding during their entire stay in the University.
