AE-FUNAI Secures NUC Full Accreditation for 10 Academic Programmes

Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi state, AE-FUNAI has secured the National Universities Commission, NUC Full Accreditation for 10 Academic Programmes.

In furtherance of its drive for academic and intellectual excellence, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi state, has secured the National Universities Commission (NUC) full accreditation for its 10 academic programmes.

In line with the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation, 2024, which empowers the National Universities Commission to lay down the Minimum Academic Standards for all academic programmes offered in Nigerian universities and also to accredit programmes, the Commission visited AE-FUNAI for that purpose in October/November 2025.

Consequently, in a letter signed by the Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission, which conveyed the result of the accreditation exercise, the university secured full accreditation in all the ten academic programmes that were presented for accreditation in 2025.

The full accredited programmes include: Business Administration, Criminology & Security Studies and Public Administration.

Others include: Education Automobile Technology, Education Building Technology, Education Computer Science, Education Economics, Education Electrical/Electronics Technology, Education Mechanical Technology and Education Woodwork Technology.

While speaking on the importance of accreditation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nwachukwu, noted that the full accreditation of the ten academic programmes by the National Universities Commission is a national endorsement of the quality of the institution’s curriculum, the competence of its staff, and the readiness of its graduates to compete globally.

He maintained his administration’s resolve for academic excellence, adding that under his watch, the university will continuously invest in staff development, modernize laboratories and libraries, strengthen quality assurance systems, and reward merit.
