Ahman Pategi University, Vice-chancellor urges new students to shun social vibes.


During the third matriculation ceremony at the Ahman Pategi University campus held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, Prof. Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, Vice Chancellor of the University, delivered a stern message to the incoming batch of students, emphasizing the importance of steering clear of social vices. Addressing the gathering of new students, faculty members, and distinguished guests, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the university’s commitment to upholding values of integrity, discipline, and responsibility.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor underscored the detrimental effects of engaging in social vices, emphasizing their potential to undermine individual well-being and tarnish the reputation of the institution. He urged the new students to prioritize their academic pursuits and actively contribute to fostering a positive campus environment.
“Any students if at the end of the session has less than 1.0 Cummulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) will be shown his/her way out of the university campus, shun all acts of social vices as the universityhas zero tolerance policy for any act of indecency, ” the Vice Chancellor cautioned, emphasizing the university’s zero-tolerance policy towards behaviours such as substance abuse, vandalism, cultism, examination malpractice, stealing, robbery and academic dishonesty. He stressed the importance of upholding ethical standards and adhering to the principles of mutual respect and tolerance within the university community.
The Vice Chancellor also encouraged the new students to take advantage of the various academic and extracurricular opportunities available to them, emphasizing the importance of personal growth and development during their time at the university.
As the ceremony concluded, the Vice Chancellor reiterated his message, urging the incoming students to embrace their roles as ambassadors of positive change and to actively contribute to the university’s mission of academic excellence and social responsibility.
