The Bauchi State government has announced the closure of all schools across the state for five weeks in preparation for the 2025 Ramadan fast.
According to the Ministry of Education, the decision aligns with the approved 2024–2025 academic calendar and applies to all public and private schools, including primary, junior secondary, senior secondary, and higher institutions of learning.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, Jalaludeen Maina, the Information Officer of the Ministry of Education, confirmed that the holiday was pre-planned to ensure students observe Ramadan at home.
“The closure will take effect from March 1 to April 5, allowing students to fully participate in the fasting period without being in school,” he stated.
He further explained that students will resume immediately after Ramadan to continue their academic activities as scheduled.
