A brilliant Nigeria, Afeez Olalekan Saka has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. This scholarship will enable him to pursue his master’s degree at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom.
Afeez Saka originally earned his bachelor’s degree in Health Education from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria, where he graduated with an outstanding second-class upper division.
Afeez joyfully shared this achievement on his LinkedIn profile, expressing his excitement at the opportunity to study for his master’s degree with the support of the Chevening full scholarship. His chosen field of study at the University of Bristol is Masters in Education, focusing on Learning, Technology, and Society.
He revealed that receiving the application email was a moment of great excitement, especially after spending a month on the Chevening Award reserve list and contemplating whether to reapply.
Afeez believes that this new phase in his educational journey will enhance his work with the non-governmental organization he is associated with, Literacy for African Child Education and Development (LACED Africa), as well as Community Tech LAB.
Afeez is embarking on this journey to the University of Bristol with the goal of gaining a deeper understanding of socio-technical change and exploring how digital technology can address educational disparities on a global scale.
