BUK Gets New Professors and Associate Professors

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Gets New Professors and Associate Professors.

The Senate of Bayero University, Kano at its 416 meeting held on Wednesday, 28 August, 2024 approved the promotion of forty five (45) senior Academics to the rank of Professors and another 45 to Associate Professors respectively.

The lists of the newly promoted professors include, Dr. Umar Sani Fagge as Professor of Arabic Language; Dr. Ibrahim Muazzam Saminu Maibushira as Professor of Islamic Thought and Civilization; Dr. Tijjani Muhammad Naniya now Professor of Social and Political History and Dr. Mukhtar Ridwanu Bunza as Professor of Forest Ecology and Silviculture.

Others are Dr. Yusuf Isa Chamo, Professor of Linguistics; Dr. Kasim Muhammad as Professor of Environmental

Engineering; Dr. Murtala M. Badamasi, Professor of Geography: Dr. Salisu Maiwada Abubakar, Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry; Dr. Aliyu Muhammad Madaki, Professor of Sports Management; Dr. Ahmed Makama Getso,

Professor of Health Education; as well as Dr. Gali Sa’idu as Professor of Guidance and Counselling. Adult Education (Classical); and Dr. Abdulazeez Umar Raji as Professor of Housing Lean Construction. Also appointed as Professors are five females which include Dr Ummulkhair A. Dantata as Professor of Hausa Language; Dr. Latifa Musa Pedro, Professor of Health Economics; Aisha Muhammad Gadanya, Professor of Nutrition and Pharmacological Biochemistry and Dr Hauwa Musa Abdullahi, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Those got promoted to the rank of Associate Professors included Dr. Lawal Muhammad Bello (Electrical Engineering); Dr. Warshu Tijjani Rabi’u (Islamic Studies & Shari’ah); Sunusi Iguda (Mass Communication); Dr. Binta Isiyaku Usman (Fisheries); Fatimah Ismail Tsiga-Ahmed (Community Medicine); Shukurat Moranke Bello (Business Administration and Entrepreneurship); Amina Abdullahi Na’ibi (Arabic); Saudat Garba Habib (Ophthalmology); Fatimah Hassan Hanga (Pediatrics) and Aminu Muhammad Bashir (Quantity Surveying).

The promotions are for 2022 and 2023 respectively.
