BUK Reopening Registration Portal for Students who Sat for the first semester examination without Payment and Grants Suspension of Studies to non-registrants.


The Senate of Bayero University, Kano has granted a six weeks extension for students who sat for the First Semester examinations without paying their registration fees. This decision was taken at the 418th Senate meeting of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, following a submission by the Vice Chancellor.

The Management of Bayero University, Kano wishes to remind all undergraduate students who have written the First Semester examinations but have not yet paid their registration fees that, the decision of the Senate for the reopening of the registration portal is still on as scheduled and that 9th January 2025 remains the final date for all students to pay their fees and complete the registration as there will be no more room for further extension.
In the same vein, students who did not write the Examinations due to non-payment of registration fees but have now secured the necessary funds, can pay their fees and register. Such students will have their suspension of studies limited to only the First Semester.
However, it is imperative to note that any student who fails to register before the deadline of 9th January 2025 will be required to suspend their studies for the entire 2023/2024 academic session.
Furthermore, prospective students for the 2024/2025 academic session are reminded that the portal for the Post-UTME online screening is still open. Interested candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and register.

The extension which is effective from Thursday 28 November, 2024 is intended to allow students complete their registration. However, students who fail to pay their registration fees within the extended period will be required to suspend their studies for 2023/2024 session.
In addition, the Senate has granted suspension of studies for the 2023/2024 session for students who have been unable to register due to unforeseen circumstances and did not write the first Semester examinations.
This decision demonstrates the university’s commitment to supporting indigent students.
