A woman expressed her frustration online after her boyfriend failed to mention her in the acknowledgment section of his final year project, despite her significant contributions to his academic work.
The lady took to a relationship platform to share her disappointment, revealing that she had been instrumental in her boyfriend’s academic success by doing his assignments, writing reports, and simplifying his notes to help him understand better.
She was particularly hurt because she wrote his final year project for him, yet when it came time for acknowledgments, he listed many names but left hers out, making her feel unappreciated and undervalued.
She wrote:
“I supported my boyfriend throughout his studies by helping with assignments, report writing, and simplifying his notes for better understanding. When he completed his project, which I assisted with, he acknowledged everyone except me. I feel so unappreciated and undervalued. I’m starting to wonder if I was taken for granted. Am I entitled to expect acknowledgment for my efforts, or is it reasonable that I feel unappreciated given my contribution to his academic success?”
