PATELA Care Foundation, in collaboration with various partners, proudly presents the Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Essay Competition (CAANEC) for Senior Secondary School Students in Nigeria.
This initiative aims to empower young minds with knowledge about cancer awareness, advocacy, and research.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Process:
- Eligible participants must be senior secondary school students in Oyo State or the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
- Submission requirements include:
- A handwritten essay of at least 500 words.
- A passport photograph.
- A copy of the birth certificate, National ID, or Bio page of the International passport.
- Contact information: Name, Age, School, School address, Residential address, Telephone number, and Email address.
Entries can be submitted via the provided portal link, postal mail, or drop-off at No 1 Aina Adefolayan Street, New Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Essay Topic: Participants are required to discuss healthy ways to reduce the risk of developing cancer.
Rewards: Winners from each region (Oyo State & FCT) will receive the following rewards:
- Winner: ₦150,000
- 1st Runner up: ₦120,000
- 2nd Runner up: ₦100,000
- Certificate of Good Effort for every participant (Electronic copies)
- Access to PCF cancer control health education platforms.
Submission Deadline and Winner Announcement:
The deadline for submission is May 31st, 2024. Winners will be announced in July 2024.
