COOU Appoints New Director Of Sports

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, has approved the appointment of Dr. Cyril Ofoegbu as the new Director of Sports for Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU).

Dr. Ofoegbu, a member of the Department of English and former University Football team member, takes over from Dr. Ofozoba Chukwunonso, currently the Special Adviser to the VC on ICT and Allied Matters.

According to the University Public Relations Officer, Dr. Ofoegbu’s appointment is a testament to his sporting expertise and dedication to the University Sports Council.

Dr. Ofoegbu is expected to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and elevate the sports unit to greater heights.

The appointment takes effect immediately, from Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
