28-year-old Aderin Adedeji has be charged to court for allegedly robbing two students of their phones and laptops.
The defendant was accused of robbing the students separately at the Osekita Hostel in the neighbourhood of the Ekiti State University.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Olumide Bamigbade, who brought the case to court asked for the remand of the defendant in custody pending when he would obtain legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.


According to the statement:
“the defendant was reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of armed robbery separately on Ayomide Ogundipe and Adewumi Manam, respectively, at Osekita Hostel on 29th September, 2021.”
“At the time of the robbery, the defendant, who was said to be armed with offensive weapons, including broken bottle, iron chisel and screwdriver, robbed them of their phones and laptops”
The offence runs contrary to Section 1(2) and (a) (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap. 398 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 1990.”
The victims, in their statement to the police, said the defendant broke into their hostel with weapons and carted away their belongings.
The Magistrate, Olu Bamidele, ordered the defendant to be remanded in the Ado Ekiti Custodial Centre pending legal advice.
He adjourned the case till November 10 for mention.
