Abutu, speaking on behalf of Commissioner Adeniran Akinwale, stated that the call alerted authorities to the presence of suspected members of the Buccaneer Confraternity Alora Sea Lord cult group, whose actions threatened campus peace.

The Rapid Response Squad promptly responded to the scene, resulting in the apprehension of the eight suspects.

Identified as Onifade Akinsola, Olatunde David, Omoboyowa Olabode, Daniel Oluwagbenga, Adeleke Tolani, Andrew Ochuko, Bamiduro Olawale, and Adelakun Omoniyi, the suspects hail from various academic disciplines, with one being a recent graduate.

During the operation, some of the fleeing individuals fired gunshots at the police personnel, damaging their vehicle. Efforts are underway to apprehend these individuals and recover any weapons in their possession.

Among the exhibits recovered from the suspects were two yellow fez caps adorned with the cult’s insignia and an inscription reading “Santa Barbara Love Victory and Perfection.”

His statement read “at about 18:00 hours, the command received a distress call that some suspected members of Buccaneer Confraternity Alora Sea Lord secret cult group were conducting themselves in a manner that could cause breach of peace on the campus of EKSU.”

Abutu listed the suspects as “Onifade Akinsola (400L Political Science), Olatunde David (400L Computer Science), Omoboyowa Olabode (400L Political Science), Daniel Oluwagbenga (300L Accounting), Adeleke Tolani (300L Sociology), Andrew Ochuko (300L Sociology), Bamiduro Olawale (CarryOver Student of Political Science), and Adelakun Omoniyi (2023 graduate).
