The attention of the Management of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) has been drawn to a trending online report that the university has imposed additional fee of #49,000.00 on its students.

The trending news tagged “Digital Training Isonu #SAYNOTOEXTORTION” is alleging the University Management of extortion.

It is to be clarified that the EKSU Management is not aware of the so called illegal fee and has commenced investigation to get to the root of the matter. For the sake of emphasis, the illegal fee is not one of the requirements for the ongoing revalidation of studentship exercise. As such, *no student* *should* *pay* the unauthorized fee.

Students of the university should disregard the fake news and go about their normal academic activities.
