The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has agreed to a bill that is aiming to upgrade the Federal College of Education, Pankshin in Plateau state, to a University of Education.


The governor of Plateau state, Solomon Lalung in a statement issued on Thursday, Feb 3, praised the President for approving the bill.

He added that the new bill confirms the position of the state as a center of learning in the North Central, and indeed the nation at large.
The governor also stated that he hoped that the creation of the University will further solve the challenge of the shortage of well-trained teachers in the country.
