Federal Government Approves Dual Mandate for Federal College Education, Iwo.


The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Education has approved dual mandate programme for the Federal College of Education, Iwo.
In a letter dated 25th February 2026, the Ministry confirmed that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has been requested to conduct a resource assessment visit to the College. This step will pave the way for FCE, Iwo to operate both as a college of education and a degree‑awarding institution.
This milestone underscores the government’s commitment to expanding access to higher education and strengthening teacher training in Nigeria.
