Federal University of Education Zaria Appoints New Deans of Schools

Federal University of Education Zaria Management has approved the Appointment of New Deans of Schools

The Acting Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe has approved the appointment of new Deans for the various Schools of the University. The appointments are as follows:

  1. Dr. Sa’eed Adewusi Gbolahan from the Department of Chemistry is appointed as the Acting Dean, School of Sciences.
  2. Dr. (Mrs.) Benjamin Grace Uyagu from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is the new Acting Dean, School of Education. She was previously the Head of the Curriculum and Instruction Department.
  3. Mal. Sambo Musa Duguza of the Department of Special Education will serve as the Acting Dean, School of Special, Adult, and Non-Formal Education. Until this appointment, he was the Head of the Department of Special Education.
  4. Dr. (Mrs.) Bello Salamatu from the Department of Primary Education Studies has been appointed as the Acting Dean, School of Early Childhood Care & Primary Education. She was previously the Head of the Primary Education Studies Department.
  5. Dr. (Mrs.) Ahmed Rakiya from the Department of Home Economics is now the Acting Dean, School of Vocational & Technical Education. She was the Head of the Home Economics Department prior to this appointment.
  6. Mal. Rabiu Hussaini Ibrahim, until now, he was the Head Department of Social Studies and now he is appointed the Acting Dean, School of Arts & Social Studies.
  7. Dr. Ahmed Bello Salihu from Hausa Department is appointed the Acting Dean, School of Languages. He was the Head of the Hausa Department before this appointment.

The Acting Vice Chancellor has charged the new Deans to demonstrate excellence and lead their respective schools in alignment with the university’s ongoing collaboration with the Teacher Development Programme, Cambridge, and the National Universities Commission (NUC) to support teacher education reforms.

The appointments are effective from January 2, 2025, and are in accordance with the provisions of the NUC, 2007, and other related regulations.

The Acting Vice Chancellor on behalf of the Management also extended his gratitude to the outgoing Deans for their dedicated service to the university.
