FG Announces Commencement of Applications for Federal Technical Colleges

In alignment with the Renewed Hope education agenda of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Federal Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of applications for admission into Federal Technical Colleges nationwide. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to providing free, skills-driven education to empower Nigerian youths with practical technical and vocational training.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, expressed pride in this development, stating: “I am proud to announce the opening of applications into Federal Technical Colleges across Nigeria — advancing free, skills-driven education for our youths.”
Registration for the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into these institutions will officially open on Monday, January 26, 2026, and close on Sunday, May 24, 2026. The entrance examination is scheduled to take place nationwide on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Prospective candidates, aged between 13 and 20 years, are required to submit their applications through the official National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) online portal at https://student.nabteb.gov.ng.
(Note: Multiple recent reports from credible sources confirm these details, though the portal currently focuses on NABTEB services broadly—check the site directly for the latest application interface when registration opens on January 26. A valid National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for registration.)
