IBBUL Denies Involvement in Student’s Tragic Suicide Over Rent Dispute.

The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, has noted with concern a report circulating on social media and some online platforms regarding the alleged suicide committed by a 300level Computer Science student, Mr. Kelvin Danlami over a house rent matter in Lapai.

The University wishes to state clearly that it is not aware of, and was not a party to any financial or rental transaction between the deceased student and the landlord in question.

The matter, as reported, relates to a private arrangement entirely outside the academic and administrative operations of the Institution.

While awaiting the outcome of a thorough investigation by the relevant security agencies, the University Management cautions against speculation and the spread of unverified information that may further traumatize the family, friends, and the University community.

The University Management wishes to use this medium to remind all students that their primary purpose in the Institution is to pursue their academic programmes with diligence and discipline.

Students are strongly advised to avoid involvement in questionable transactions or activities that may expose them to financial, legal, or psychological distress.

The Management also assures the general public that it will fully cooperate with the appropriate authorities to ensure that a proper and transparent investigation is carried out to unravel the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death.
