Umeozor Benedict, a Business Administration graduate of the University of Lagos, emerged as UNILAG’s overall best graduating student with a perfect 5.0 CGPA, topping 10,584 undergraduates and continuing the school’s tradition of academic excellence.

Umeozor Benedict, a Business Administration graduate from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has emerged as the overall best graduating student with a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0. This remarkable achievement showcases his academic excellence and dedication to his studies.
Benedict’s outstanding performance has earned him the top spot among 10,584 undergraduate students, with 617 of them graduating with First Class honours. The University of Lagos’ Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, announced this achievement at a press conference, highlighting the university’s commitment to academic excellence.
This isn’t the first time UNILAG has produced a graduate with a perfect 5.0 CGPA. In 2015, Daniel Dada Ayodele achieved the same feat, and in 2025, Damilare Haroun Adebakin and Samuel Akinade Badekale shared the top spot with a perfect score.
Benedict’s achievement is a testament to his hard work and perseverance. He joins a league of exceptional students who have made history at UNILAG, including Aliyu Gafaar, who graduated with a perfect 5.0 CGPA from the University of Lagos Business School in 2025.
The University of Lagos has consistently produced outstanding graduates, with many going on to make significant contributions in their fields. Benedict’s achievement is a reflection of the university’s commitment to academic excellence and its role in shaping the next generation of leaders.
The 56th convocation ceremony, where Benedict will be awarded his degree, is scheduled to take place from January 20 to 22 at various venues within the Akoka campus.
