Today we will be sharing with you one of our exclusive most inspiring students’ stories. It’s about Samir Shehu Danhassan who is an indigene of Kano State, Nigeria. He graduated with second class upper in ABU Zaria but moved to first-class and best postgraduate student in the Department of Geography, Jodhpur National University, Rajasthan India. Today, Shehi shared his success story with ALLSCHOOL.


Introducing himself, he shared this with us:
“My name is Samir Shehu Danhassan, from Kano State Nigeria, I was Awarded Kano State Government Merit Scholarship in 2014 at the Jodhpur National University, Rajasthan, India, and graduated with First Class Honours as the Best Postgraduate Student in the Department of Geography, Jodhpur National University, Rajasthan India.”
“Of recent, I won the Alliance of International Science Organization (ANSO) Scholarship (The Most Prestigious Scholarship in China) at the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China to Study PhD Cartography and Geography Information System.”
“I also won the Chinese Government Scholarship at the Northeast Normal University, Changchun China to study PhD Cartology and Geographic Information System.”

When we asked him where he did his undergraduate, he said this:
I did it at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and graduated with Second Class Upper Honours in 2012.
Sharing how he got the postgraduate scholarships, he said this;
“I first contacted a Potential Supervisor directly via email to request for his Supervision, I sent him all my School documents and transcripts with Publications.”
“I had to make 9 international journals and a Book Publications”.
“And I also have to do Physical Examination in a Government Hospital as part of the application”
“For Undergraduates, they need to go to their Embassies of China in their Respective Countries in order to inquire about the process”.
Explaining how he got his first scholarship from Kano State Government, he said this:
“In 2014, the Kano State Government awarded the Scholarship to me for graduating with Second Class Upper. It was a full scholarship that covered tuition, visa, and flight ticket.”
“The government usually awards Scholarships to Graduates with First Class and Second Class Upper Honours of Kano State Indigenes.”
Advising Students, he had this to say:
My advice to them is to always believe in themselves, make good use of their God’s given talent to succeed, and make the whole world a better place.
