The Kwara State Government has condemned the alleged assault of a corps member by teacher Fatima Amuzat at a secondary school in Ilorin, pledging to investigate and take disciplinary action while urging calm among stakeholders.

The Kwara State Government has announced plans to discipline Fatima Amuzat, a teacher involved in the alleged assault of a female corps member at Government Day Secondary School, Kulende, Ilorin.
Peter Amogbonjaye, Press Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, revealed that the Commissioner, Hajia Saadatu Modibbo-Kawu, strongly condemned the incident, describing it as unacceptable. The assault reportedly occurred when the corps member visited the school to collect her clearance letter but was allegedly attacked by teachers upset over her failure to greet them properly.
Following the incident, the Ministry’s Anti-Loitering Team and the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission conducted an unscheduled visit to the school to investigate and restore order. Modibbo-Kawu emphasized that Kwara State is known for peace and harmony and reassured the public that the government would not tolerate such actions in its educational institutions.
The commissioner urged the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and other stakeholders to remain calm and law-abiding as the matter is addressed. She confirmed that the accused teacher has been summoned and will face appropriate disciplinary measures.
