Kwara State University (KWASU) Convocation Ceremony Date For 2025 Has Been announced.


Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has released the official schedule for its 13th Convocation Ceremony, slated to hold from Tuesday, December 9 to Saturday, December 13, 2025. The announcement was made on behalf of the Council, Senate, and Congregation by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh.
This marks the 13th convocation ceremony and includes a variety of events leading up to the main day.

Programme Highlights
The week-long event features academic activities, exhibitions, sports, lectures, awards, and the formal conferment of degrees.
Day 1: Tuesday, December 9, 2025
- Vice-Chancellor’s Press Briefing
Venue: Muhammadu Buhari Main Library, KWASU Campus, Malete
Time: 11:00 a.m. - Official Opening of Exhibition by University Units
Venue: Same location
Time: Immediately after the press briefing
Day 2: Wednesday, December 10, 2025
- Library Programme
Time: 11:00 a.m. - Football Match (Academic Staff vs Non-Teaching Staff)
Venue: University Stadium Complex, Malete
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Day 3: Thursday, December 11, 2025
- Convocation Lecture
Venue: Mini Convocation Arena
Time: 11:00 a.m. - Convocation Play by Department of Performing Arts & Film Studies
Brief for Graduands
All prospective graduands for the 2025/2026 session must check their names on the KWASU website.
Each graduand is permitted to invite one guest.
Convocation Charges
- Undergraduate Students: ₦35,000
Includes academic gown hire, certificate scroll, alumni fees, and certificate. - Postgraduate Students: ₦60,000
Includes similar provisions as undergraduate charges.
Certificate scrolls will be available after the convocation ceremony upon presenting proof of payment and a clearance certificate.
Additional Requirements for Graduands
Attendance in the academic procession is compulsory, and graduands must wear the approved academic gown.
Formal dressing is required, which includes full English wear or national attire.
Late arrivals will not be permitted into the convocation arena.
BRIEF FOR GRADUANDS
- All prospective graduands for the 2024/2025 Academic Session are to check their names under the 2024/2025 Graduating Students’ List on the University website: www.kwasu.edu.ng.
- Each graduand shall be allowed only ONE (1) guest. Invitation cards will be issued from Thursday, December 11, 2025 (immediately after the Convocation Lecture), when academic gowns will be available for collection.
- All prospective graduands are expected to pay the following charges:
• Undergraduate: N35,000.00 (Thirty-Five Thousand Naira) only
• Postgraduate: N60,000.00 (Sixty Thousand Naira) only
for the following items, irrespective of whether or not they attend the Convocation Ceremony:
(a) Hiring of Academic Gown
(b) Certificate Scroll
(c) Alumni fees
(d) Certificates - Certificate scrolls will be available for collection shortly after the Convocation Ceremony from Faculty Officers upon the presentation of evidence of payment of appropriate charges and clearance certificate.
- Graduands are expected to attend a rehearsal of the academic Procession which will be held at 2.30 pm on Friday, 12th December 2025, at the Ultra-Modern Performing Arts Building.
- It is compulsory for all graduands who will attend the Convocation Ceremony to participate in the Academic Procession and wear the approved academic gown. Any graduand without an academic gown will not be allowed entry into the Convocation Arena.
- Graduands are expected to be formally dressed in full English wear (ie, suit, shirt, and tie for men and skirt suit/skirt and blouse or gown for ladies) or full national dress.
- Graduands are expected to be on Campus by 7.00 a.m. on Saturday 13th December 2025, for the Procession, which will start from the Entrepreneur Building at 8.00 am prompt. Any graduand who comes late will not be allowed to enter the Convocation Arena.
- All hired gowns should be returned by the graduands to their respective Faculty Officers not later than Friday 19th December 2025. Gowns returned after that date will attract a fine of Five Hundred naira (N500.00) only per day.
- Graduands should visit the University’s website for details of the mode of payment of convocation charges.
Gown Return and Penalties
A fine of ₦500 per day will apply for gowns returned after this date.
