Two Adekunle Ajasin University students were abducted and murdered in a plot allegedly masterminded by their landlord, Oladele Femi, who orchestrated the crime with accomplices to extort money, leading to a nationwide manhunt for the remaining suspect.

New revelations have surfaced in the heartbreaking case of two Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) students who were abducted and later found dead, sending shockwaves across Ondo State.
The students—25-year-old Friday Abah and 19-year-old Eloho Okah—were reported missing on June 20. Their tragic fate was confirmed by the Ondo State Police Command, which described the killings as a cold-blooded, premeditated act.
In a press briefing held on Wednesday, Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal announced that the victims were kidnapped by a gang of armed robbers and later murdered to prevent them from identifying their captors.
The investigation, which began after a petition was filed by the victims’ families on June 24, led officers to Lagos. There, 38-year-old Abdul Mohammed Mubarak was arrested in possession of an iPhone 14 Pro Max belonging to one of the students. Mubarak confessed that he bought the phone from a man identified as Ojo Michael, who was subsequently arrested in Aramoko-Ekiti.
Under interrogation, Michael admitted his role in the crime and named the operation’s mastermind: Oladele Femi, landlord to one of the victims. According to police, Femi organized the abduction and recruited Michael along with another accomplice known as “Kola,” who remains on the run.
The suspects reportedly lured the students with the intent to rob and extort them. During their captivity, ₦800,000 was withdrawn from Abah’s bank account. However, when Eloho recognized Michael as an acquaintance, the group decided to eliminate both students to avoid exposure.
The bodies were later dumped between Agbado and Ode-Ekiti. Okah’s corpse has been recovered for autopsy, while efforts continue to locate Abah’s remains, believed to have been disposed of in a river.
Police also recovered the victims’ stolen Lexus RX 350 SUV, used during the operation.
Commissioner Lawal assured the public that all those involved will face justice, and that law enforcement is intensifying efforts to capture the remaining fugitive.
