A postgraduate student of University of Ibadan recently caught attention on social media after revealing the total amount she paid in tuition and other fees while beginning her academic programme.
The student documented her resumption experience in a video, explaining that she had just officially started her master’s degree. She described the registration process as stressful but also exciting, noting that moving between offices and completing various formalities marked the beginning of a new academic journey filled with opportunities and challenges.
According to her, despite the stress involved, she felt happy and optimistic about what lies ahead, seeing the experience as a fresh chapter in her life.
At the end of the video, she displayed a receipt detailing the payments she made before resuming lectures. The breakdown of her fees included:
Tuition: ₦30,000
Medical fee: ₦7,500
Development levy: ₦10,000
Library registration: ₦4,000
Student union levy: ₦200
Supervision fee: ₦25,000
Induction fee: ₦5,000
Counselling: ₦1,000
Sports: ₦1,000
Portal access: ₦4,000
Insurance scheme: ₦1,000
Faculty registration: ₦5,000
Regulation and publication: ₦10,000
Internship: ₦120,000
Internet services: ₦8,000

Her post gained traction shortly after another postgraduate student from the same institution went viral for similarly sharing her own tuition expenses.
In a related development, another student from the University of Ibadan also made headlines after opening up about both the positive and challenging aspects of studying at the school, offering advice to prospective students.
Separately, a different master’s student drew attention online after publicly expressing gratitude and seeking divine support while reflecting on the struggles he faced before completing his programme.
