2024 NERC Essay Contest for Nigerian Secondary School Students. The deadline to apply is March 15th 2024.


The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) presents the NERC Annual Essay Competition exclusively for Senior Secondary 2 (SS2) students across Nigeria. This competition aims to engage students in critical thinking and discourse on the topic of consumer protection within the electricity sector. Participants are required to submit essays within the specified word limit, addressing the theme of “How does the New Customer Protection Regulation (CPR 2023) Protect the Rights & Obligations of Electricity Customers?”

- Double entry will result in automatic disqualification.
Announcement of Winners:
– Successful students and schools will be contacted during the 2nd quarter of the year.
– Winners will also be announced on NERC’s official social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn (@nercng).
CLOSING DATE: Submission period is from February 20th to March 15th, 2024. Entries received after the deadline will be automatically disqualified.
