Nigerian Law School Extends Registration Deadline & Debunks Online Payment Rumours

Nigerian Law School Extends Registration Deadline to April 9, Debunks Online Payment Rumours.

The Management of the Nigerian Law School is aware of a publication circulating online alleging non-validation of payments of students by the school.

We wish to clarify that the Nigerian Law School operates a fully automated online registration system, wherein payments made are verified electronically through the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) generated on the Remita platform. This system has consistently ensured a seamless and transparent payment validation process for the vast majority of applicants. To date, a total of 7,267 students representing over 90% have successfully completed their registration through this process.

However, a limited number of applicants have experienced validation challenges. These issues are varied and largely attributable to the following:

  • Multiple payments in tranches, instances of underpayment of school fees, which affects the automatic reconciliation process.
  • Payment made in a name different from the student’s name.
  • Use of an RRR already utilized by another student, which constitutes a fraudulent practice.
  • Claims of payment made to the Law School account without verifiable evidence of such transactions. Affected students have been advised to contact REMITA for assistance.

Notwithstanding these challenges, the Nigerian Law School has been responsive in resolving these issues, even beyond the call of duty.

Affected students should promptly check their payment status through the relevant campus channels and resolve their issues.

And to enable prospective students who have just completed the NYSC programme to register, the Nigerian Law School has extended the deadline for the registration to Thursday 9th April, 2026.
