A Nigerian man, Alex Onyia, is seeking 20 students who achieved straight A1s in the 2024 WAEC exams to sponsor for a competitive two-year program at United World Colleges, leading to potential full scholarships at Ivy League schools.

A Nigerian man, Alex Onyia, has announced on social media his search for 20 outstanding students from the 2024 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams who achieved straight A1s across all nine subjects.
Onyia is looking to sponsor these high-achieving students for a prestigious two-year program at United World Colleges (UWC).
To be eligible, students must have secured A1 grades in all nine subjects they took during the WAEC exams. Onyia highlighted that the program is highly competitive and is designed for students with exceptional academic talent.
Upon completing the program, successful students will be eligible for full scholarships at Ivy League institutions like Harvard, MIT, and Stanford.
However, Alex cautioned that students who took their exams at so-called “miracle centers” should not apply.
He shared on social media:
“An organization reached out to me, interested in sponsoring student applications to United World Colleges. It’s an intensive two-year program for exceptionally bright students. Once they complete it, they can gain full scholarships to Ivy League schools like Harvard, MIT, and Stanford. The program takes place in 18 different countries, including the US, Canada, and Singapore, and the selected students will move to one of these countries for the program.”
