NUC accredits 13 programmes in Anchor University

The National University Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to Anchor University. It’s the VC that announced the result of the university first accreditation

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to Anchor University in 11 out of the 13 programmes presented to the commission.

The vice chancellor, Prof Joseph Afolayan who announced the results of the university’s first accreditation during an emergency Senate meeting said the commission granted full accreditation in 11 courses, while two others were given interim accreditation.

The NUC had approved 15 programmes for the university at its take-off in 2017, 13 of which were presented for accreditation in October/November 2019 as provided by the commission’s guidelines.

Expressing his delight at the results, Prof Afolayan appreciated members of the Senate for their efforts during the exercise.

He said the result is an encouragement to the university and urged members of staff not relent in their efforts.

“We thank God for this good news. We were well prepared for the exercise and we should be happy about the results and ensure that we even do more. Considering that the exercise was our first as a university, I am most delighted and appreciate all your contributions,” he said.

Also speaking while presenting the details of the results to the Senate, the deputy vice chancellor and director of academic planning, Prof J.O. Fatokun said the result was an encouragement to the university and everyone who contributed to the exercise.
