The.National Youth Service Corps , NYSC has Announced Procedure for Date of Birth Corrections

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released its guidelines for correcting discrepancies in Date of Birth on its mobilization portal, aiming to simplify the process for prospective corps members.
Here’s a detailed look at the new procedure:
- Obtain WAEC Verification Pin: Begin by acquiring a 19 or 20-digit WAEC Verification Pin. This can be obtained from any branch of First Bank or through authorized outlets.
- Registration and Dashboard Access: After securing your pin, complete the NYSC registration process. Once your registration is submitted, log into your NYSC dashboard to access further options.
- Access Date of Birth Correction: Find and click on the ‘Correction of Date of Birth’ link on your dashboard. This link is specifically designed for initiating changes to your recorded birth date.
- Enter Details for Verification:
- WAEC Verification Pin: Input the pin you’ve purchased.
- WAEC Type: Choose the type of WAEC examination you participated in (e.g., WASSCE).
- Year of Exam: Specify the year you completed the examination.
- Examination Number: Key in your WAEC examination number.
- Verification and Finalization:
- Click on Verify Button: This step checks your entered data against WAEC’s records for accuracy.
- Submit or Cancel: After verification, you will be prompted to either submit your correction request or cancel the process if needed.
This initiative by NYSC is part of an effort to reduce administrative errors and ensure that participants have accurate personal details on their service records. It’s crucial for prospective corps members to follow this procedure before camp registration, as any last-minute corrections can lead to complications during service.
For further inquiries or assistance, prospective corps members are advised to visit the official NYSC website or contact the nearest NYSC secretariat. This update reflects NYSC’s commitment to improving service delivery and enhancing the experience of corps members nationwide.
